Tata Nano celebrates its first birthday
World’s cheapest car, Tata Nano turns a year old today.
While the year has been somewhat turbulent for this little wonder with four Nanos catching fire and the initial enthusiasm and hype dying down somewhat and rumors of price increase due to growing input costs, which could actually make the Nano costlier than 1lakh rupees going around, it is still the cheapest car in India and despite that, Nano still manages to turn heads while on the street and managed to put Indian Auto Industry in the headlines of foreign media (rarely does that happen). Which we feel is a no small feat for a car which many industry experts dismissed as impossible/impractical/uneconomical to produce.

Although there are no official functions planned at the home of Nano (Tata’s plant in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand), we are sure that all involved would be celebrating the birthday of this little car today.
So we would like to wish Tata Motors and the Nano, a very happy birthday.
