Less than a month after the last hike in petrol prices, state run oil companies have decided once again to raise prices, this time by 70 paisa per liter.

While Bharat Petroleum has already gone ahead and raised the price, Indian Oil will implement the new price from midnight tonight and Hindustan Petroleum is expected to follow suit soon.

Cost of normal petrol at Bharat Petroleum petrol pumps is now Rs. 52.53 a litre in Delhi, Rs. 56.39 in Kolkata, Rs. 56.95 in Mumbai and Rs 57.01 Chennai.

Indian Oil is expected to raise the price of petrol by few paisa more than Bharat Petroleum.
