Chevrolet has showcased the Chevy Volt at the ongoing Auto Expo 2010.

Chevy Volt is an electric vehicle with extended range capability i.e. an electric car, which when low on electricity, uses petrol powered electric generator to generate electricity for itself.

This unique feature of Chevy Volt provides it with unlimited range capability and sets it apart from other hybrid cars.

Chevy Volt’s 16kWh, T shaped Lithium-ion battery pack powers the electric drive unit and is capable of running the Volt for 64kms, without needing to be recharged.

Chevrolet Volt is set to make its US debut in late 2010 and Chevrolet is evaluating a possible Indian launch, a bit later.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. (TKM) has unveiled the concept model of its soon to be launched new compact cars in India, Etios at the ongoing Auto Expo 2010.

Etios incorporates the advanced technology and superior quality features that have been developed by Toyota specifically for India. Etios concept comes in both hatchback and sedan variants and Toyota is planning to launch it soon in India.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Kazuo Okamoto (Vice Chairman, Toyota Motor Corporation) said, “We are very excited to finally showcase the concept of Etios, which has been newly developed specifically for customers in India. Our tagline of ‘World First, India First’ represents our choice of India for the global premiere of the Etios concept, following which exports to other countries will be evaluated. BMW X6 M and 760Li have made their debut in India, at the ongoing Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi.

While the BMW X6 M is the first all-wheel-drive BMW M model, the new BMW 760Li marks the pinnacle of the fifth-generation BMW 7 Series and features the newly developed V12 6 liter power plant with BMW Twin Power Turbo technology, High Precision Injection and double-VANOS infinite camshaft adjustment.
