Maruti planning to launch Alto with K series engine
Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch Alto with one liter K series engine.
According to news report published by PTI, Maruti Suzuki India Chairman R C Bhargava has said that they are looking to update Alto, which last month was launched with BS IV emission norm compliant engine.
While it is not yet certain whether the 1000cc Alto would replace the existing 800cc Alto or would be sold side by side. Especially considering that the higher cc engine would also increase the price of Alto, which at the moment, is the second cheapest car being sold in metro cities like Delhi and would likely wipe away the major cost advantage it currently enjoys over the likes of Hyundai Santro and Chevrolet Spark.
