Cars to cost more in Delhi
Delhi Government in a bid to reduce sale of automobiles in Delhi, has raised road tax on cars being sold in Delhi.
According to the new tax structure in Delhi, cars costing up to 6 lakh rupees will now be levied four percent road tax, cars between 6 to 10 lakh rupees will be charged seven percent road tax and cars above 10 lakh rupees will be charged a whopping 10 percent road tax. Earlier road tax in Delhi was a miniscule two percent.
This means that that common man’s Alto would now cost Rs. 4,576.46 more than earlier for its base variant, while a person planning to buy the full loaded SX4 will have to pay Rs. 57,765.75 as road tax!
On the other side of the spectrum, a person planning to buy a Bentley Continental Supersports would be paying a whopping 22 lakh 50 thousand rupees to the Delhi Government, in order to drive his dream car in Delhi!
